Cam Morales, the CEO and Founder of Brandafy, got the titles and throws around buzzwords like “Paving the path for entrepreneurs,” “changing the face of modern e-commerce” – it sounds great, but what we are itching to know is what’s really going on behind those flashy phrases.

What’s his story? An article mentions over a decade of experience, but I’m curious about the nitty-gritty details. What’s his track record? Where’s the proof? The line between empowerment and exploitation seems blurred with them.

Who is the Founder?

Cam Morales is the CEO and Founder of Brandafy, he claims he has become a guiding force for over 4000 entrepreneurs. There’s not much known about him and he only posts inspirational quotes in his Facebook account with a consistent reaction from a person named Thomas Anderson.

He also has a YouTube account created back in November 2021 and an article from Digital Journal, which he probably paid himself, says that Morales launched Brandafy in 2020 and he lives in Jacksonville, Florida.

The person in the video in their website (the first photo in this article) does not look like Cam Morales and I just think I should mention that. What does it have to do with anything? It just a bit confusing but it does not mean anything for now, just that it is noteworthy especially that they do not offer any information about the people behind their company. There is not even an about us in their website and that’s a bit upsetting but nothing new in the industry.

Brandafy is a service that offers prebuilt Shopify dropshipping stores to individuals interested in starting an e-commerce business. Here are the key aspects of what Brandafy does:

  1. Dropshipping Store Setup: Brandafy helps individuals set up a Shopify dropshipping store. This includes the creation of the store, design elements, and the integration of essential components.
  2. Niche Selection: Users can choose a specific niche for their dropshipping store from a range of options provided by Brandafy. Niche selection is crucial as it determines the type of products the store will focus on.
  3. Logo Design: Brandafy offers logo design services, allowing users to choose between a standard logo and a branded logo for their dropshipping store.
  4. Product Selection: Brandafy claims to find winning products for users’ stores. This involves selecting products that have the potential to be popular and generate sales.
  5. Supplier Integration: For each product in the store, Brandafy provides a recommended supplier. This is essential for the dropshipping model, where the products are sourced and shipped directly from suppliers to customers.
  6. Additional Services: Brandafy may offer additional services such as consultations, a dropshipping course called Ecom Upstart, and social media followers. These services are aimed at providing users with resources and knowledge to enhance their dropshipping business.

Brandafy’s dropshipping course, “Ecom Upstart,” cost $197 Lifetime Access and a monthly membership of $47 per month. The way they present their prices tho is confusing, just look at their pop up and they claim to be able to give you a top-notch store but.. their own website is not easy to understand and outdated.

Why is it so Cheap?

I want to focus on their $17 cheapest price just because this is the option with the most beef with people at first glance and arguably a controversial choice of pricing indeed.

So! For the price of $17, from the list above, you will only get pretty much until number (5) “Supplier Integration” and then all else additional services will cost you hundreds of dollars each.

What they do is to set up your shop, the bare minimum and basic set up which honestly you can do yourself but if you’re only a beginner and not very familiar yet with the platform plus not so “techy”, this service will save you time.

What they Don’t Tell You

You need to pay a ton for ads to drive the right amount of traffic to your store for potential buyers or otherwise no one’s going to know your shop exists unless people manually search your shop which is impossible because, as said, nobody knows about it in the first place, right? There’s already a lot of existing shops as competition so you can’t really rely on a miracle chance that somebody will find you by accident.

Let’s be Realistic First

You will need to advertise, learn everything else yourself because Brandafy will not do any of it with a contemptibly small $17. Understand that they’re not a scam either, their service is just often “misinterpreted” and that is partly their fault too because they are not being entirely truthful about their service from the get-go.

They aggressively advertise their cheap start up price so much that people impulsively assume success only cost so little. So, very clickbait-ey, right? Being vague is very effective sales strategy.

Dubious but not a Scam

As said, I wouldn’t go as far as calling them a scam. Yes, they do give you a prebuilt Shopify store, but the problem is it does not live up to the hype. Scams usually involve straight-up deception, but with Brandafy, it’s more like they fall short on the delivery.

The prebuilt stores they offer seem to have some issues – the products they pick might not be the winning kind like they say, and the overall quality is not at all that stellar.

They are delivering what they promised, just not in the way you hoped for.

And here’s the kicker – no refund policy. That’s a bit of a red flag for me. Like, if they were confident in what they’re offering, why not have a refund option, right? It just adds to the risk, especially if the store doesn’t pan out like you expected.

So, in a nutshell, not a scam per se, but definitely some room for improvement and a bit of caution before jumping in.

I know I said they do not have a refund.. I was kidding but not really. Just hear me out first. Yeah, they do refund but, hey, I don’t know. You tell me if I interpret it wrong.

In the photo provided above, their refund policy says “Eligibility for refunds IS restricted to new, non-custom store purchases without any upsells” further saying that they will only refund your $17. It will not matter if you end up wasting a few thousands of dollars on their service, the most you will get is the $17! It is unreal. Forget about a refund, it’s as good as non-existence.

The lack of a refund policy is obviously a concern, as it increases the risk in associating with their services. It’s important to be aware of this policy before deciding to engage with Brandafy, and you should carefully consider the potential implications and satisfaction guarantees when making a purchase from the platform.

Conclusion

What I don’t like about them is that they are not straight forward, seemingly luring people in to avail their service with their very affordable “trap-like” initial pricing and then hook you up in their skillful upselling maneuvers. Yes, you will have a store but the stark reality is that it might not generate any revenue unless you upgrade the service and get ready to spend at least $5,000.

The harsh truth about dropshipping is that achieving a full-time income immediately is difficult. You cannot make a full-time income right away.

Even seasoned dropshippers often find it takes months, if not years, to witness substantial profits or a return on investment (ROI). To be candid, success in this industry is no walk in the park; in fact, it might be more prone to financial setbacks. It might even be easier to lose money than success in this industry.

It is best to have another source of income if you’re really looking into starting in this business and not rely solely in your shop. Get ready to spend a fund you can afford to lose with how saturated dropshipping is right now, if you’re not smart about your cash, you can end up losing everything you invest in it.
